PUBLIC SAFETY: THREE-POINT PLAN FOR WISCONSIN
1. Hold Criminals Accountable and Support Law Enforcement
-
Support consistent enforcement of state criminal laws and stronger penalties for repeat and violent offenders.
-
Strengthen coordination among local police, prosecutors and state law enforcement.
-
Wisconsin Department of Justice criminal justice grants can support effective local public safety initiatives with measurable results and accountability.
2. Protect Children and Prevent Crime
-
Strengthen Wisconsin’s Child Advocacy Center network, including the CARE Center serving Waukesha County, to improve child abuse investigations.
-
Support Wisconsin Department of Justice school safety grants and improve coordination between schools, police and emergency responders.
-
Expand evidence-based youth prevention and early-intervention programs that help at-risk youth avoid crime and keep neighborhoods safe.
3. Give First Responders Proper Resources
-
Help eligible providers access EMS Funding Assistance Program to support essential emergency medical services.
-
Support state and federal grants for fire equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training and recruitment of firefighters and EMTs.
-
Review staffing, response times and equipment needs with local police, fire and EMS departments, while prioritizing cost-effective investments and regional cooperation.
My commitment: Protect children, enforce the law, support those who protect us, and ensure public safety funding delivers measurable results for Wisconsin taxpayers.
